WHO: 4 families with children ages 0-17
WHAT: Free seeds and starters, organic fertilizers, organic pest and disease control, hand tools, material for row covers, and a “garden coach” to teach you how to grow lettuce, spinach, kale, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, beets, and other cool season crops.
WHEN & WHERE: In the Welcome Garden at First Presbyterian Church. Sept. 1, 2023 through at least August 2024. You will be assigned one of the garden beds in the Welcome Garden.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Mandatory 1-hour meeting with the garden coach for all participants, Aug. 23
Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 - 9 am to 1 p.m. REQUIRED WORK DAY FOR ALL
MONTHLY garden workshops with the garden coach.
Daily - Stop in at your plot to weed and water! Cover your crops in the cold. Uncover them in the afternoon. You may need to do this over the weekends too.
Weekly - Weigh and track your harvest and report it as part of the program.
APPLICATION DUE Friday, August 18th, 2023 by 11:59 PM. We will choose participants by Tuesday, Aug. 22nd.
