2026 Artists and Crafts

  • Make your own mini farmers market basket out of clay! In this quick walk-up activity, kids will pinch and shape a tiny bowl, add little handles, and create a fun textured basket. Perfect for beginners, each participant will leave with a charming handmade keepsake.

Bio: Alyssa Fuson is a ceramic artist based in Knoxville, TN. She started ceramics at Oak Ridge High School in 2020 and has since graduated from UTK with a ceramics minor. She now teaches classes and works as a studio coordinator at Appalachian Arts Craft Center.

We will coordinate with a later date workshop to bring these back to the Market when they are fired for parents to pick up.

  • Children will design their own beaded strands and attach them to a piece of driftwood, creating a colorful hanging decoration to brighten any window or wall.

Bio: I’m Grace and I am the artist behind Woodberry Designs! I create handcrafted wood jewelry and accessories using found and recycled wood. My goal as an artist is to create slow sustainable art that encourages connection to nature.

  • Description: Make your own mini mushrooms out of clay! In this fun, quick activity, kids will be able to hand build their own small mushrooms. Kids will pinch and mold mushroom stems and caps and paint their mushrooms. They will also get to attach the stem and top together! Perfect for beginners, and every kid will get to create 2 cute, keepsake mushrooms.

Bio: Brittany Irwin is a ceramic artist based in Clinton, TN. She began her pottery journey in 2022 at the Appalachian Arts Craft Center. She is now teaching pottery classes for all ages and managing their Homeschool Art Club Programs.

  • Children will design their own magic wands using wooden sticks, beads, felt, and ribbon. They’ll explore color, texture, and imaginative details as they create a wand that reflects their own unique style.
